Increased cost-effectiveness and efficiency in production "Manufacturers of bulk commodities such as bottle caps are under continuous pressure to reduce manufacturing costs. Continuous improvements being made to both process and machine mean that Netstal is satisfying the increasing demand from South American customers for material savings, process efficiency and greater cost-effectiveness in production," explained Markus DalPian, Head of Business Unit CAP. As such, Netstal will be presenting a highly efficient bottle cap production process at Feiplastic 2013 on an ELION 3200 featuring the new electric clamping unit with energy recovery. "Using this can lead to energy savings of up to 50 percent," emphasized DalPian. PCO 1881 bottle caps are produced in a cycle of 4.2 seconds with a 72-cavity mold made by Austrian company z-mold. The closures are cooled by a lift cooler that comes courtesy of Eisbär, likewise based in Austria. The ELION 3200 is fitted with the new aXos control unit, which boasts an improved control panel and many new applications.
Fastest cycle times, lowest costs The closure sector is characterized by mass production and high cost sensitivity. Drawing on its experience and range of ELION, EVOS and SynErgy machines, all honed for high performance, Netstal provides the ideal basis for systems focusing on mass production. By combining our wide application know-how with our technological savoir-faire, it is possible to provide cost-effective production systems for our customers in South America," said DalPian. Thanks to Netstal's concentration of long-standing expertise in the closure sector, today it is able to provide customers with even more professional advice – well before the actual procurement of production equipment even begins. |
